I'm not sure many of you know this but my brother is going to school to be a Mortician. A lot of people, including myself, ask why and what made him decide to do it. I think that he is doing it because he sincerely loves us all. He wants to provide a service to others. To help them and support them in such a difficult time. The science of it is amazing. I love talking to him about the human body and how preparing it for the burial works. I think he couldn't have chosen a better career and I am grateful for him as my brother. He shared this video with these words; "This film depicts what I do, for those interested." I watched it and I feel peaceful and thankful that there are people in this world that have the amount of respect and empathy these Undertakers have. They are very needed. It's a long video, about 45 minutes but if you have the time I suggest you watch it. Although, I must warn you, I teared up and there are parts that show them preparing the bodies. Nothing graphic, just makeup and dressing and a few scenes of the embalming process, but if you are uncomfortable with it don't worry about watching it. I'm glad I watched it, hope you will find it somewhat reassuring as I did.

I think that is great. It makes it a lot easier when you have a good mortician.
I have a brother very interested in doing the same thing. He worked for a mortician during high school. I am grateful there are people out there that are willing to do it!
So when I first read "mortician" I asked why, just like you said, but after reading the rest of your blog, you make a great point. We need people who can do a job like that. I just gotta say, better him than me. I'd pass out at first sight of a body! I can't even handle paper cuts!
I'm glad Chandler has found something that he feels passionate about and he can rest easy knowing he is doing a good deed for other people. That job takes a lot of compassion.
He has a wonderful family supporting him.
I thought your sister would have chosen this profession. Did she used to want to?
