Tiggz goes swimming!

I read that guinea pigs are excellent swimmers so I decided to give it a try. I was a little nervous and I felt kinda bad cuz I think he was scared, but he did so good! We put him in the water for a little bit while the tub filled up but he just sat there staring at us like, "get me out of here!" then when it was full enough I picked him up and slowly lowered him into the water and he started swimming in circles! YAY for my piggy! Then he was all wet and cold so I felt bad again. I'll probably never do it again but it was cute and I'm so proud of my guinea pigs' first attempt at swimming. Just sayin' hi!

Today was my day off and I am so sad it's over! I slept in and then went to run my errands and spend a ridiculous amount of money on supplies for the salon. That was sad. Then I went and sat by my pool for an hour (working on that goal of warm ivory...) and it was really nice. Hot of course, but I love reading and it's a great time to read. Then Shay and I went and saw 1408. It's a good movie. Really trippy. I left and felt like I just went through the twilight zone. I liked it. Not too scary, although, if you asked some of the girls in there (the ones screaming bloody murder...) they would say it was. It wasn't scary, it just surprised you sometimes. Anyhow, enough with my rambling. Hope you all had a good day. I did!

I RETRACT MY STATEMENT!

SUNSCREEN IS NO LONGER MY BEST FRIEND. It failed me today. I used it and I still burned. And not this little, oh my sunscreen must've lost power throughout the hour burn, like I never even put it on burn! =( At least it's just my legs, back and front, and all spotted. Feel sorry for me. I do. HAHAHA! (OH, and I promise it's not the aerosol spray, it's first time I've burned using it. I still love sunscreen, I think we ALL should use it, and the new way of putting on still rocks!)

Father's Day!

Yesterday was Father's Day so Shay and I went over to his parent's house to have dinner with them. It was a lot of fun! First we went to their church meeting to listen to his mother give a talk. She did so well. It was about fatherhood (of course) and it actually made me want a family! I KNOW, I KNOW! Now I'm talking crazy. It made me excited to see Shay and our kids play together and to see the bond formed as a "family unit". I still want to wait, a lot longer, but it was nice to have that confirmation, I guess you could call it that. After church we went to their house for dinner, games, and presents. Of course I got a bit competitive in the game part, but in my defense, I did better than I have and I did not get mad. (Not for real at least...hehe!)
I called my Daddy on the phone to wish him a happy day. It always makes me a bit sad that they are so far away. I miss my family and Montana. Maybe a visit is in the future... maybe. I guess they were just hanging out and "enjoying" the cloudy, cooler weather.
Today was my day off. I slept in, ran my errands, and then went to the pool at my apartment complex. We are going to Hawaii in September with Shays' family and I want to be warm ivory instead of pasty white! Therefore, I am spending some quality time with the sun. Oh, and of course with my best friend in the whole wide world, SUNSCREEN! I found this amazing sunscreen that is aerosol! No rubbing, no pumping, just push and then you're all covered. I LOVE IT! So easy. So, yup, that's all for now. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU DADDIES!

Tiggz!

I thought I would put up a quick blog about our little guinea pig, Tiggz. Shay bought him for me in September for my birthday! (Even though my birthday is in October. We just couldn't wait.) He was only the size of the palm of my hand when we got him and now we call him "an overgrown potato" because he's grown so much. He's been a lot of fun and is very tame. He has a very strong personality for a rodent and it's fun to watch him get to know us better. It's cute when Shay gets him out. He allergic to Tiggz but they still play and have a special little bond. I know it sounds strange, but hey! aren't I strange anyhow!?

First time BLOGGING! (sort of)

I just typed this whole blog about my day so far and then I lost it before i could post it! So technically this is not my first blog. But it is my first one I will post.
I went to a birthday party today for my my cute little buddies Hayden (3) and Roman (1). They both have a birthday in June so Kelli (their cute mommy) threw them both a party today. I had a lot of fun watching the kids enjoy the sun and water while the rest of us stayed in the shade. The poor kids were exhausted from their playing, but so were all the parents trying to keep the kids safe and happy!
My friend Kelli and her family are moving to Ohio in July and after I left the party I started to cry a little because I realized it is probably one the last times I'll get to hang out with her! We'll get together some more before she goes but it just finally hit me. So Kelli, you're mean. You made me cry. =(
It's so hot today (100 degrees) that I'm pretty sure I'll be spending the rest of my day inside enjoying my AIR CONDITIONING! I love the summer though. The heat doesn't bother me as much as the cold. The cold is just bitter and relentless. I know the heat can be just as awful, but I still prefer it. =)
